White Sands Maldives Becomes a Diva!
White Sands Maldives Facilities
There are three main restaurants on White Sands Maldives: Kaana Kotari serves breakfast, lunch and dinner for the Island Village guests. If you want to eat anywhere else there is a supplement (much as you find on any of the Maldives all inclusive island offers). So no surprises there.
Sunset Restaurant serves Thai à la carte. The
word is the food
on the island is excellent and very varied in style and cuisine. Vilu Mathi restaurant is for the exclusive use of the Water Village guests and serves breakfast lunch and dinner. Water Village guests do get to eat in the other restaurants if they wish. And if you fancy a drink or a nibble... then there are three bars and cafes so your needs are well and truly catered for day or night. Vilu Bar & Café Open all day and evening this is a relaxed area, peaceful and just the place to examine your tan before dinner.
Nagili Bar and Pizza Corner More like your usual bar this one. Lively and fun with its own pizza oven churning out really rather good pizzas. The sandy floor and wooden surround give a real beach feel. The Sunset Bar is part of the Sunset restaurant and is a great place for sipping those cocktails and watching nature do a J W Turner watercolour with the setting sun and darkening sky. And the Beach Side Café will refresh you as you soak up the sun or exert yourself with the ample range of water sports available.
If you’re travelling with little ones you’ll be pleased to know that cots can be provided and high chairs are available for meal times (free of charge). If you want a break from the rugrats (tee hee), then a baby sitting service is available, but charges will vary. We recommend you enquire at the time. There’s also an Internet café, jewellery store, gift shop and boutique too.
White Sands Maldives Activities You can’t fault the Maldives for their dive centres. The one on Maldives White Sands Resort is excellent and run by the Euro-Divers team. If it’s your first time you couldn’t pick a better place than the Maldives to try it. White Sands Maldives hosts a
full range of water sports
from windsurfing, pedalos, sailing and water skiing. And if you’re keeping your feet on dry land then check out the tennis, badminton and volleyball. Depending on the
vacation package you choose
some of these water sports are included, so check with your travel agent when you book. And of an evening… You can occupy yourself with the regular evening entertainment in the form of a disco for those of you who can remember what one is. It’s bare foot dancing all the way so don’t take the tuxedo will you…? And of the day… You’ll have the choice of Maldives White Sands Resort Island shopping and island excursions. Word of advice here; make sure you know which trip you’re on. Some people find what they thought was an island visit was in fact a shopping trip… no souvenirs for them! If hopping and shopping isn’t your style then of course the Maldivian classics such as fishing trips, Island picnics and a number of cruises (Moonlight Cruises, Sunset Cruises and Dolphin Cruises) are available.
White Sands Maldives SpecialitiesLovers unite! A vacation at the White Sands Resort Maldives means you can have a wedding blessing on the beach followed by a romantic meal for two with your own chef and waiter. It’s not surprising that after the hectic time and ''public'' wedding back home people choose to have this as their own private ceremony. It is understandably popular.
The White Sands Maldives Resort Coconut Spa has a range of treatments including:A deep tissue massage for the back, shoulders and legs, a full body massage using palm pressure and essential oils. Warm Stone massage and many other beauty and refreshing options to stimulate your body and as we say… Perk you up a bit! Although Charley always seems to need more sleep after a body massage!
Hmm… Anything else catch your eye?The Maldives White Sands Resort is like many of the islands; there are variable sea currents so some will find it easier than others to keep stationary on the surface whilst watching a patch of coral waiting for a moray eel to nip out. You’ll also find that often one side of the island is choppier than the other… The White Sands Maldives charges for snorkel equipment, so we would recommend you buy and take your own if you’re going to be there for a couple of weeks as they charge per item – snorkel, mask and flippers). The snorkel safaris are recommended because whilst the lagoon is pretty it is shallow in places. There’s more to see out on the reefs so buddy up and get snorkelling. You’ll love it!
