Tourist Attractions In Maldives start before you even land.
Look out of your window as you fly over the islands...
... You'll see them just before touching down at Malé International airport.
Concentric rings of sand and shades of blue pick out the islands and atolls of this aerial view.
This is the first of the tourist attractions in the Maldives. So have your camera ready!
So what are tourist attractions in the Maldives?
An obvious candidate for a great attraction is of course… The Beaches!!
They’re ranked as some of the best beaches in the world, so that’s got to mean they’re pretty good right? You’ll absolutely love the fact they’re never crowded and that you’ll always be able to relax and soak in the sun in peace… bliss!
If we’re talking beaches then we have to talk diving...!
There are over 45 dive sites that take in dolphins, sharks and even wrecks.
Some of the PADI dive centres are five stars and world renowned so whilst you’re in safe hands, always keep your own safety a priority.
If you’re not a diver then worry not, you can always enjoy the array of tropical fish as you snorkel the house reefs of the island resorts.
Land based tourist attractions in Maldives fall into three categories… Those that pamper your body, those that work your body and those that refuse to allow you to sit up except to reach for your cocktail.
The spas are fabulous, world class (hmm I’m sensing a theme here…) and designed for ultimate relaxation. Many of the luxury resorts have teams of Spa professionals using the latest techniques in massage therapy…
But if all you’re after is a sauna, then look no further; most resorts come with plunge pools, steam rooms, saunas and Jacuzzis – some of which are even attached to your villa in the maldives!
If you fancy a bit of sport then you can always use the gyms, tennis courts and Sun Island even has a golf course!
Maldives night time attractions are there to provide entertainment and can be anything from night diving and night fishing to chillin’ at your resort’s bar and listening to a live band or perhaps, if like Phil you believe that you can do it better, why not try out the Karaoke?
But if like Charley you think you can dance it better, then you can always boogie the night away on the dance floor at the disco!
You’ll find a couple of rather peculiar tourist attractions in Maldives whilst you're out there, no I’m not talking about the fruit bats – although they are quite a sight if you get to catch a glimpse of one on a late night stroll around the island… But rather Maldives crab racing.
Now this isn’t really our thing, but some resorts have a sort of rally where crabs are raced and you can place bets… apparently the crabs like it and are well looked after so we won’t call the royal society for the protection of crabs just yet..!
If you think you’ll get itchy feet you’ll be pleased to know there are plenty of excursions to other islands, some inhabited, some not as well as the mother of all Maldives’ islands…
... Malé! Huzzah for tourist attractions in Maldives!!
Phew! I’m exhausted just writing all of this!
There really are plenty of things to do and plenty of tourist attractions in Maldives.
If you want to keep it simple, you can take a pack of cards, a couple of good books and while away the time immersed in your own world… Go on, enjoy!
