Kuda Bandos is an uninhabited island with great snorkelling (so don’t forget to take your gear with you!).Lunch is a barbeque on the beach and the final stop is Kani Resort where you can unwind before returning to Meeru. The dive school, Ocean Pro and resort run their own house reef snorkelling and we’d recommend Big Game Fishing and PADI courses and diving excursions to anyone.
Meeru Island Maldives (Meerufenfushi) Specialities
The Ocean Pro dive school has a good reputation, in particular for the novice diver.
Hmm… Anything else catch your eye? Snorkel equipment on Meeru Island Maldives can be hired for about $7 a day. If this is not in your budget then invest and buy mask and flippers before you go. It’s also an opportunity buy a mask that’s been fitted for you personally. Reports have been fed back on the conscientiousness of the resort staff, the quality of their service and how helpful they are. This will always make a holiday worthwhile.
The current in the lagoon by the water bungalows can be strong, so be cautious when snorkelling. Our top tip of course is to never ever snorkel or swim on your own. Whether it’s the Maldives or the Atlantic safety in numbers is always sensible. Speaking of wind, when the monsoons change direction the wind of course changes and this can mean an increase in noise across the lagoon. A purely natural phenomenon, it has been known to stir a light sleeper from their bed. We know it happens around November so it may be worth considering this when booking your vacation at Meeru Island Maldives.
We would recommend buying an inflatable sun bed if you don’t have a sun-lounge allocated to your room. The inflatable beds are sold in the resort shop. Charley and I will buy one of the good quality ones for about $30, have the dive centre inflate it and at the end of out stay leave it for the Housekeeper. He’ll either loan it on to the next visitor, perhaps for a small rental charge or sell it. Either way it’s an option to make use of something and pay it forward!
Enjoy your Meeru Island Maldives holiday!
