The resort is due north of Malé and sits on the eastern tip of this big atoll. Our Meeru review page has more details about what the island offers in general so you may want to take a look. Ok, to avoid confusion we have to say that technically, Meeru doesn't do wedding ceremonies, it does renewal of vows ceremonies, but since it sort of fits with the whole wedding theme (there are flower girls!) we thought we'd place it here. OK, confusion averted. The most recent innovation is the creation of a Meeru village within the Meeru resort. It lies at the northern end of the island with it’s own restaurant, spa and reception. The whole resort is rated as 3 stars. 
What's in the Renewal of Vows Package?It’s a busy resort with lots going on. There is, though room for everyone... which is always a good thing.Your Meeru Island wedding (or rather renewal of vows) ceremony will be in both Dhivehi & English... Don't worry you don't have to learn before, just repeat after the Master of Ceremonies. Like Kuredu wedding packages there’s help with hair and make-up. At your wedding ceremony there'll be wedding songs, the classic Maldivian bodu beru drums beating as you and your spouse arrive... ...There will even be flower girls to accompany you up the secluded beach aisle. Afterwards you take a relaxing dhoni trip and watch the the scenery unfold. In the morning, local Maldivian girls will pick up the bride where she'll be whisked off to the spa for hair and make-up... A bit later, the girls return to the room to pick up the groom for his turn to be... well er... groomed in the spa... sorry! The Meeru Island Maldives wedding ceremony commences to the sound of drumming carried out by local Maldivian drummer boys, as the flower girls escort the bride from the spa to the beach. 
Under a white gazebo adorned with hearts and petals the renewal of vows take place on Meeru Island.After the ceremony, coconuts are served and the certificate is signed by both "renewed" husband and wife. After this, you're whisked to the edge of the lagoon on a dhoni before returned your villa with flowers decorating the bed... not a Champagne breakfast in site... and just the kind of simplicity you need on an island already imbued with such stunning natural beauty.
