Uncover Maldive Holidays
So you’ve found yourself here wanting to know more about Maldive holidays… you’ve seen pictures of pristine beaches and beautiful lagoons, but you’re still not sure what to expect or what all the fuss is about.
If you’re new to this part of the world then you’re in for a real treat. You’ll see from our maps page that the Maldives are located South west of India and a plum in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
You’ll also have noted that although known as
a country the Maldives is unique
in the fact that there’s actually more water than there is land… this means that a holiday in the Maldives is more about the island or resort that you choose. It’s a bit like going to any country – there are different parts and, what kind of holiday you have depends on where you go in that country – it’s the same with the island resorts.
What you can be certain of with Maldive holidays is that all the islands have two – no – three things in common. Beautiful
white sand beaches,
stunning lagoons and most importantly, wonderful weather. Sunny skies are the norm all year round in the Maldives; even in the so called rainy season still holds an average of 29 to 32C.
The best time for a holiday to the Maldives
Maldives is between November and April with May to October being hot with more cloud, humidity and more of a chance of rain – so if you’re thinking of Indian monsoons, you’re off track.
Between 80 and 100 of the
islands have been made into resorts;
each island is home to one single resort – this is why when you hear about a specific resort that is the name of the island too. The pictures on this page are just a hint of the fabulous scenery that makes Maldive holidays an experience that cannot be replicated anywhere else – Phil and I love it here.
But wait… “Just what do you do on an island in the middle of the ocean?” we hear you ask. The answer is as little or as much as you like.
Once you’ve chosen your island, be it a
three star resort
or a one of the great
four star resorts
or perhaps even a
luxurious five star resort
, you’ll see that each island packs in a lot of punch when comes to things to do. A better place to start is to think about the kinds of thing you would like to do on holiday and stay at a resort that does that… and here’s the great part;
diving,
snorkelling,
surfing,
dancing, game fishing, dolphin watching and spas are standard in the Maldives. So even if you don’t book a five star resort, you can be sure to have a great holiday wherever you stay. Oh and if you’re curious about the accommodation you can expect with Maldive Holidays you can
