Restaurants & Bars:
It’s not all about surfing, you can dine at the Banyan Restaurant (the main one for all inclusive holidaymakers).

The Sunset Restaurant which is both an à la carte restaurant and a coffee shop or the O Sole Mio Italian speciality restaurant.

If you don’t fancy leaving your bungalow, 24hr room service is available from Sunset Restaurant.

Whatever your tipple, you’ll be sure to find it at the Sunset Bar (attached to the Sunset Restaurant), the Beach Bar found at the north end of Lohifushi island and not forgetting the surfers out there, the Surf Bar at the south end of the island where you can be in full view of the surfing.

There are two swimming pools including a children’s pool on Lohifushi Island Resort Maldives. A Karaoke Lounge and children’s play area…

Surely not the same thing I hear you ask? The usual suspects in the form of the laundry service and express photo service: souvenir shop, gem and jewellery shop.

There’s a baby sitting service that may well come in useful too (remember to check details like this for price and times).

You’ve probably guessed that Lohifushi is a Maldives surfing hotspot so we shan’t dwell on that too much except to say that there are courses for surfers of all levels, including beginners.

In the evening you can listen to live music, attempt Karaoke or sit back and watch some of the traditional shows including Fire Dance… and yes there’s even a bit of crab racing!

The Dive School is well equipped and as with all the Maldives island resorts, provides a top notch service and all you’ll need to pass your PADI or simply hire equipment and get out to the coral filled depths of the Indian Ocean. There are 40 different dive sites so pack your underwater camera for some great pictures.

Lohi break has hosted international surfing competitions and has its own bar and viewing point.

Not that we want to harp on about it, but it’s worth noting that Lohifushi Island Resort Maldives has a great left-hander which folds around the south east corner... and yes, you have access to this quality left-hander within paddling distance as well as use of the resort boats for transfers to the outer reefs, like the Chickens and the Sultans… just what the doctor ordered!

If surfing is not your thing, you can always dive as the house reef is said to be superb.

Bicycles are available so check hire charges. You may though prefer a languid walk and if it’s the middle of the day, take your umbrella for shade from the sun.

We’ve not seen anyone else do it on our trips to the Maldives but we almost always take our room umbrella with us if we’re spending the day in the sun. It always provides perfect shade when you need it most. Just unfurl it over your towel, fish out your book and I-pod… mmm… couldn’t ask for anything more... perfect!
