There are five restaurants dotted around the Laguna Beach Maldives.
The Summerfields - The main restaurant offers informal dining for board basis guests. All meals are either a buffet style or table service.
Café Laguna - That serves light international dishes and snacks during the day and by night transforms into an inviting restaurant offering a variety of house specialties including fondue.
Dragon Inn – Exactly as it says! A Chinese restaurant decorated in the oriental style and colour, red and green.
Four Seasons – This is the à la carte restaurant serving traditional Mediterranean dishes and wines.
Palm Grill – This is somewhere that always smells good. Don’t know about you but barbeques give off that fragrant smell that’s too good to pass up! The Laguna Island Maldives resort is no exception serving meat and seafood grilled to order as the sand warms your toes and the water gently applauds.
There are three bars for you to choose from on the Laguna beach resort Maldives.
Triton Bar – Right by the pool the Triton offers up thirst quenching juices.Oh yes, sun loungers too if you need to put your feet up!
Galaxy Music Lounge – This is an air conditioned bar area for you to relax in and into the evening join in some of the live music that’s played. There’s a long cocktail list so stick around and try a couple!
Sunset Bar – Does exactly as it says on the tin! From the sundeck sit back and watch another beautiful day change into a velvet purple night… It’s not known as Laguna Beach Resort for nothin’!
Laguna Maldives Activities
Languid, languorous, Laguna Maldives it is not...
You would think with all this talk of relaxing that there wasn’t anything else to do… well only if you want to of course. But there’s a choice from the following if you decide to roll off your sun-bed, stagger to your feet and put on some trainers!
There’s the air conditioned gymnasium. OK you may not want to go that far so you have table tennis and a floodlit tennis court in the centre of the island next to the Spa. After a work out why not give the steam bath and plunge pool a go?
As for on the water; the lagoon is ideal for snorkelling, canoeing and windsurfing. You can also go catamaran sailing.
Laguna Beach Maldives offers a variety of excursions including trips to Malé, reef snorkelling, night fishing, island hopping, trips in a glass bottom boat and more. Remember to find out what’s included and what isn’t in your Laguna Beach Maldives vacation package. Check with reception on arrival and book in for what you want to.
Go to your bungalow put on your bathing costume and run with arms flapping in delirious delight into the warm welcoming waters of the Indian Ocean…
…hmmm… difficult choice!
Laguna Maldives has a fully equipped and professionally run diving base on the island. The novice, beginner and experienced diver are well taken care of.
Operated to the standards you would expect of a resort dependant on diving as one of its tourist resources; PADI qualified instructors and equivalent will take you out to the dive spots they know and show you the vast marine life in this seductive underwater world. If you haven’t been it is truly another world to discover.
Laguna Island Maldives Specialities
The resort Dive School on Laguna Island Maldives is recommended by many who have been to this resort. Enquire about night time diving at the school and ask about taking underwater pictures too.
Laguna Maldives Wedding Blessings can be arranged and held on the beach. For many this is a welcome break to the planning of the wedding that took place back home. A beach blessing can be a perfect balance to the traditional white wedding. And remember it’s only a blessing and not a marriage. You’ll have to do that at home first!
Hmm… Anything else catch your eye?
It’s about US$3.50 for a bottle of mineral water: Same story folks, know what you are going to get for your Laguna Maldives vacation package!
It’s hot and you will need to drink a lot of water. As All Inclusive guests on Laguna Island Maldives Charley and I always asked for a bottle of water even if we only wanted a glass. We would keep the bottle in our fridge so consistently managed to have a few litres of chilled water available. Especially crucial if like us, you wander away from your bungalow for the day and don’t want to have to pop back to a bar or restaurant for water.
We know, for some of you it all sounds like too much bother… but trust me if this is the only planning you do then it’s worth it.

As with any tropical island near water and near the equator you need to be know that there can be insects. Laguna Maldives is no exception. For some reason resorts shy away from mentioning this: Better said now so you aren’t surprised. There can be mosquitoes at times; so ask housekeeping for a spray (or take one yourselves and perhaps a plug in repellent). We’ve had trips where not one has been seen and others where we’ve been glad of some form of repellent.
The currents can be strong at times so be aware when swimming. This applies to all the Maldives Islands.
The wind when it blows can make the sea choppy.
Well; what did you expect on Laguna Maldives a tiny island surrounded by the might of the Indian Ocean!
