Komandoo Maldives, opened in 1998 and is rated as four stars. You�ll find it at the top of the Lhaviyani Atoll, about 130 kilometers north of Mal� International Airport.

A 40 minute seaplane flight gets you to this island and the views are magnificent� Or you can take it a pace slower with a four hour speedboat trip.

Komandoo Maldives Overview

Komandoo Island has a sense of privacy about it, probably because it�s only 500 metres long and 100 metres wide. The house reef is stupendous and is situated just by a channel opening so even if you don�t dive, it�s certainly worth taking up snorkelling, you may still spot the odd school of dolphin.

Wander the paths and you�ll come across a 40 year old coconut plantation which gives the island a quaint feelings.

Komandoo Maldives Accommodation

Komandoo Island has 45 rooms which is great as any more on such a small island would definitely feel like a squeeze!

Beach Villas are spacious on this island and are in the shape of a shell. Expect the usual materials here, wood and other gifts from nature. The beach villas come with sun lounges on the wooden terraces � which overlook the beach by the way � and an open air bathroom. Not one to overlook their four-star status, you�ll find little treats like his and her basins, CD player, and four poster beds.

The Romantic Villas lie on the eastern side of the island and have a separate living area. Your terrace is shaded and you�re supplied with the requisite sun beds needed to while away your days.

The romantic villas come with individual tropical gardens and Jacuzzis. It wouldn�t be romantic if four poster beds didn�t make an appearance so they do, as do the twin basins.

Both the beach and romantic villas on Komandoo Island Maldives come with air conditioning, ceiling fan, mini bar, IDD telephones, Kimonos, circular glass showers, tea and coffee making facilities.

The Water Villas can be found to the south of Komandoo Island. The villas come with a shaded terraces and a sundeck that leads down into the lagoon. If you prefer to stay dry, why not rest on a double sun lounger, or a daybed.

The bathrooms have walk-in showers and a Jacuzzi that overlooks the lagoon. The Water villas come with the same features as the beach and romantic villas but also come with a flat screen TV and an Espresso machine...
