Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi Island Bliss
Resort
Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi is a spectacular 5 star resort. There’s not a lot more to say really. Too many superlatives can be off putting. So all we will say is it is a fabulous island and all you would expect from a top class five star tropical island hotel in the Maldives.
Ideal For… Here at the Complete Maldives Holiday Guide we recommend this Coco Palm on Bodu Hithi for couples and honeymooners.
Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi Overview As we said before, here is where it’s a bit tricky… This is one of two separate Coco Palm resorts in the Maldives (as well as Coco Palms in other countries and a Cocoa Island in the Maldives) which can be confusing. To keep it simple we’ll refer to each by its full name; Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi. Situated on Kaafu atoll (that’s north Malé atoll to you and me) Coco Palm Maldives is on Bodu Hithi Island. This Maldives Coco Palm resort is about 30 kilometres from Malé international airport. That’s a swift and comfortable 40 minute boat ride to your island across the warmest bluest waters you’ll ever see.
Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi AccommodationSea View Island Villas are big. The bedroom has a bathtub in it with views over the ocean, an en-suite dressing room, bathroom and two showers, one inside and one out. There’s a private decking area shielding a pool and daybed. Room enough for a barbeque! Of course for beach lovers the island villas are near perfect for a shoeless holiday in the tropical sun. The Water Villas sit over the warm oceanic waters. Your king size bed a raft adrift. Like the island villas, there’s an indoor and outdoor shower, spacious bathroom, a large living area so you can leave your clothes… scattered everywhere! A split-level sun deck with plunge pool walks you down to the lagoon. Escape Water Villas have all the qualities of the water villas with a larger pool outside deck area and interior space.
The Escape Water Residence (not to be confused with the Escape Water Villas) has all the qualities of the other water villas. It has the added benefit of a sunken bath, spacious lounge and offers an in-house butler service and catering from the exclusive restaurant and bar for the escape residence.
The room facilities for all the villas Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi include, a television that’s flat screen or plasma, espresso machine for the early morning wake up coffee call.Access ports for laptops, you’d be well advised to check reliability and speeds for usage. Phil takes his laptop sometimes if only to load on the pictures and free up the memory card on the camera… and watch films when he thinks I’m not looking! On Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi you’ll either have a balcony or terrace and plunge pool. Inside there’s air conditioning, IDD Telephone, fridge and safety deposit box, bath robe for each of you, tea making facilities, CD and DVD player too. Even with all this on offer you are expected to leave the comfort of your villa for the more remote destination of the beach… if it’s not too much trouble of course!
Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi Vacation Package Options Your three options for staying here are bed and breakfast, half board and full board.
Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi Facilities You have four restaurants to savour and a glass fronted wine bar to enjoy wines from around the world to the setting sun. The Palm Restaurant & Bar is exclusively for those of you staying in the Escape Water suites. The food is international which loosely translated means something for everyone. The Wok (I’ve probably given away what it does…) offers an Asian and Oriental fusion of tastes to their international cuisine. The Air Restaurant has the buffet selection and also a la carte menu both of which embrace international cooking and the...
The Seafood Grill & Bar sits over the lagoon.
On Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi, you need to bear in mind that wandering to your table in a pair of trunks and a bikini (not wearing both at the same time of course) will not be allowed. The dress code is smart casual and perhaps just casual at a minimum for the Wok and Air restaurants. Yes we know that people often disregard this, but you need to know that a standard of attire is expected. So pack a pair of slacks (yes you heard me, slacks… lighter than trousers and almost as smart so the Americans say!). The Stars is a restaurant exclusive to those of you staying in the Escape Water Residences (not to be confused with the escape water suites ok?). This restaurants speciality is cuisine from Asia cooked and presented in a contemporary style. Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi also houses an infinity-edged swimming pool with a bar (and showers close at hand if you find heading for the surf a struggle).
Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi Activities The dive school is PADI recognised and there are plenty of dive trips. In addition you can choose from catamaran sailing, windsurfing, water skiing and of course the freedom to snorkel when and where you like. Canoeing, one of Phil’s favourites, is also available. You can snorkel straight from the beach and that is a great advantage for beginners. That’s the reason you see swimmers wearing flippers walking backwards into the sea from the beach. Not a strange water dance but the only way to walk with flippers. Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi charges for most of these and it will go on your bill at the end of your stay. There’s a hard tennis court and the obligatory selection of other taxing sports including table tennis. Fishing trips will show you how to catch and… wait for it… Prepare your fish for dinner.
Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi SpecialitiesThe Coco Spa is spacious and peaceful. Both things you want when relaxing. A range of treatments including massage, facials, aromatherapy and body treatments are on hand to gently pummel and care for you in equal measure It may not sound like anything important but if you’re going with your kids then you’ll be pleased to know that baby-sitting is available for a small charge and cots are provided too. Of course make all reasonable enquiries about the babysitting before you use the service.
Hmm… Anything else catch your eye? All the restaurants are non-smoking. For some this will come as a relief, for others it will involve a brief saunter to the sandy edge of the island and a contemplative puff before returning to table. The villa rooms are all spacious and beautifully designed. There is a charge for snorkel equipment so like us you may want to sacrifice a bit of space in the luggage and take your own. As Phil so succinctly points out to me… I don’t hire my swimsuit where so why would I want to hire a snorkel mask?! If you’re honeymooners or anniversary celebrants then the resort offers Champagne and fresh fruit, an island gift, romantic dinner à deux and sunset cruise for your holiday on Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi.
If you’re staying in one of the Escape Water Villas or Escape Water Residences you’ll have a Champagne breakfast on the house served either in your villa or at the beach. If you’re newly weds on a Coco Palm Maldives honeymoon then you may like to know that there are discounted holiday rates for brides (sorry guys!) so ask your travel agent This is one of the resort islands that doesn’t put on a Christmas celebration so if you find yourself on Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi in December eagerly anticipating either snow, Father Christmas or a stocking-full of presents then think again.
Enjoy your Coco Palm Maldives Bodu Hithi holiday!
