But if you want to keep things simple then perhaps a three star resort is the easiest place to look for cheap holidays to the Maldives.

The thing to remember about three star resorts is that you might not get hand carved four-poster beds but the villas on the resorts have a clean, simple and elegant feel to them and and although lobster might not be on the menu the food and drink provided is still delectable.

We wouldn’t be The Complete Maldives Holiday Guide if we didn’t say that some of the rooms could do with a bit of a re-vamp but you won’t find asbestos or a family of wild bats living in them either!
If you consider that the white sand beaches where you'll spend most of your time sun bathing or the excursions or perhps even the time spent diving and snorkelling, then the need for a new coat of paint shouldn’t put you off!
